QQ was cleaning himself beside me
QQ playing with me on sofa...he was purring all the time we play and it means he is happy and content with me

He always stay at the sofa with me while I am watching TV. Sometime he watch TV by himself...yes cat can watch TV

Look how much he had suffered....he was skin to bone thin the day before he died
QQ last time on sofa beside me..he was looking at me from the kitchen floor, try to crawl to me but was too weak to make the distance and he stop after every few crawls....I pick him up and rest him on sofa beside me. He was in pain so much I believe, he kept adjusting his resting position
I fell asleep at around 4am the night he passed away, I woke up around 7:30am and call his name but he didn't move. I am so sad. I rush to his side near the bath room door where he usually rest and sharpen his claws. His body was stiff so I guess he decided to go as soon as I fall asleep. I am so sad thinking back the position he died: He was facing me, looking at my direction on the bed with his eye half shut and mouth open. He must have tried to call me to hug him before he go.
I never have a chance to say goodbye to you. You decided to go.
At least we spent the night together in the same room, for one last time.
We looked at each other before I fall asleep.....I didn't expect it would be the last time.
I plan to bring you to Dr. Mohamed today....I really want you to be healthly and playful again.
It's a pain to see you go like this, last night when you poo on the floor, I didn't scold you, because I know you are weak.
Yesterday eventhough you are so weak, you still crawl and try to stay close to me, wherever I go in the house.
The next time I open the door when I reach home, I will never have you waiting and rubbing my leg anymore.
We have so much fun together and you give me lots of joy.
We watch TV together on the sofa, I will play catch with you and you will come very close to me and try to lick my face when I call your name.
You followed me anywhere I go. Every cabinet doors I opened you will jump inside.
I will playfully close the cabinet when you still inside...sometime you cried but the next time you jump right in again.
Everytime I sit on the bar counter, you will try to jump up, to rest on my lap.
When I close my room's door, leaving you outside, you will wait for me in the next room, watching the door.
When I close the bathroom's door, you will wait for me inside the laundry pail outside the door....haiz...
Everytime when I fall asleep on the sofa, I will wake up finding you curling up and sleep next to me.
Most of the morning if I let you sleep outside the room, you will wake me up with you meow outside the door.
If I let you sleep with me, you will wake me up by rubbing my face and messing my hair in the morning.
I hope you have had enough fun living with me....fighting with the evil curtain, sharpen your claw on many carpets in the house, playing with plastic bag you found at the kitchen.
Your claw marks are still fresh, on my right tigh....Silly you, you never give me a chance to teach you not to climb up when I am wearing shorts.
But you did learn not to climb onto dining table...I forgot to praise you good boy.
How I wish you can make me laugh again by fighting with your own tail...
I know you did tried to say goodbye...when you cried painfully last night.

bb, with the help from our baawab, we buried QQ under the purple tree next to our apartment. I believe God send QQ to me for a purpose. He is a little kitty, but he taught me how I should appreciate a relation with our loved one.

bb, I think QQ's temperature has gone down, because his body is not as hot as yesterday. However, he still refuse to eat.
He slept the whole night beside me.
This morning he wake me up and then he go poo poo. His poo poo is waterly and some poo stained his back leg. I washed his leg.
Before I leave for work, I mixed some diarrhea powder I brought here with water, force feed him.
If he is not getting better or still not eating today, tomorrow morning I will bring him to the vet at Animal Friends.
I don't trust the doctor last night, he failed to inject QQ properly the first time. Furthermore, he suddenly put on his friendly "evil" smile when it come to payment.
I purposely asked his charges for the vacination and rabbies. It is 30% more expensinve than Animal Friends.
Some more he asked me where I stay, where I work and where I come from.
Hah, trying to check my background and charge me accordingly?
So I told him I work as a teacher and I am a Korean.
Well, I didn't think I slept well and didn't really have mood to eat this morning. I think this is the feeling we will have for our kids when they fall sick also, even more.

He was ok when I came home for lunch. He still play catch with me.
But when I returned from work in the evening, he was listness.
I noticed there's something not right with him when he just lay on the floor not wanting to move very much.
I put him on the couch and slowly stroke his fur. After awhile he convulse and vomit.
I notice something wrong with his poo also. He has never failed to cover his poo, but when I checked the pail, he miss his aim (on the side of the pail) and at the sametime never hide his poo after he is done. This means that he is very sick...cats will always make sure they
bury their poo.
I sent him to vet. A very non convincing vet clinic with a very lousy reception area. But that's the nearest vet I can find. I walked there with my bermuda and singlet....didn't bother to change at all. I want him to be treated as early as possible.
The doctor was late but lucky my timing was right. I only waited 5 minutes as told by the assistant who looks and dressed more like a door man. This is the first time for me when 5 minutes in Egypt is really 5 minutes.
The doctor measured QQ's temperature...he got fever, 40.5 degree C. Approximately 1.5 degree C more than the highest normal temperature for cat.
He was injected with fever relief and antibiotic shots.
I brought him home and went to the nearby market to buy chicken meat for him to eat. Doctor said now must stop dry food and give him boiled chicken and rice. Damn elevator not working when I came back....so I climb all the way up 7 storey.
He ate one small piece and stop....I tried to feed him. If he refuse to eat an hour later, I will force feed him with the shringe give by doctor. I will grind the chicken meat and mix with grinded rice.
Rosy came to change money. She said QQ will be alright, her cat was having the same problem initially.
I hope QQ will be alright soon. Today he will sleep in our room.
I am a worried parent and I don't want to lose another cat.
Very very hot today, everything is warm at home. The shampoo is warm, the water is warm, even the clothes inside the wardrobe is warm.
QQ's body is very warm also.....
How I wish he is now jumping up and down trying to disturb me while I am writing this.

Dear, QQ was sleeping like a baby next to me while I was surfing internet.
Sometime I am mad at him for being too sticky. He will try whatever way he can to get close to me, like jumping and hanging on my pants and try to climb his way up while I was at the bar counter.
This morning I wake up he cried outside the room. Not sure why, maybe hungry? But I gave him a bowl full of cat food leh.
Last night I let him eat chicken nuggets...he love it and bring it to the kitchen, hide under the table and slowly chew it away.

Over the weekend, I accompanied Mummy to JB to pay our JB' house electrical bills. The traffic jam is terrible, lucky we took bus. So we no need to wait in the long jam. It already been more than 1 month Singapore still can't find the fugitive. I really start to doubt Singapore ability in certain areas.
BB, my latest weight!!! kekeke As light as air.
Well, now it is a known fact that there is shortage of many food supplies, like oil, rice and etc. So no wonder there are limitation for these items.
BB this is the semi automatic washing machine, I like it because it really clean the clothes very well. but the only troublesome thing is someone need to shift the clothes from the left drum to the right drum to spin dry the clothes.
The other good thing about this semi automatic machine is that, we can have a form party. muhahaha. Silly me!!! :p
Elaine's Birthday party - part 2. As Kei specially flown in and stay one night for Elaine's Birthday. So we had dinner and our favourite fast food joint - MOS burger!!! The photos below was taken after our dinner. We had no place to go so last mintue decided to take a ride on the Singapore Flyer!!!

We ended the night at Ah boon's house Kopitam to have a quick drinks. And he had presented Elaine Birthday present. She love it very much.When my Egyptian colleague said ''Okie Dokie" in his E(gypt)english the other day, I thought he was refering to this:

So off I went to look for a cat...at animal adoption center.
First I went to Animal Friends at Maadi, an animal shelter. I didn't get to adopt any cat there because this office serves mainly as vet clinics. But Dr. Sofia there was very helpful and she gave me a hand drawn map of their main shelter nearby pyramid Giza area.
The next day, I went to the adoption center again at Giza this time, by taking Cairo taxi.
The back box thingy in the photo is the taxi and it looks exactly like the one I was taking. Very old and these Cairo taxi must have rooming the city streets for a few decades. Most of them has no air conditioning, stift and flimsy feeling seat, creeky add ons radio...and off course I am pretty sure the meter is there as decoration only; and the car is so small that my 9" feet always got stuck in between the front seat and back seat whenever I try to get out from the back.
What? Got air bag or not? Don't be silly lah, I can't even find a seat belt in it!
After some narrow and winding roads... (with hot sun and no freaking air con...)
.....and the taxi driver got lost a few times (I don't blame him, look how ulu the place is, it was right after the bare brick building on a small lane), we finally reached the shelter.
The taxi driver made an offer to wait for me (of course for a price lah), which I accepted whitout a blink.
We were greeted there by Dr. Mohamed who managed the shelter. (Dr. Mohamed with cats rooming around him and the man behind is my taxi driver)
Cats for adoption! Many many cats. One of them is call Pussy cat...no I didn't made it up...Dr. Mohamed told me one hor.
Puppies!
The center is divided into few sections: Boarding section for dogs and cat, adoption section, surgery room and a small piece of land to cremate any dead animals.
I met a few special dogs there. They are all streets dogs and there's one that was dead inside the cage looks like a boxer.
Dr. Mohamed told me some background of the dogs there...quite sad actually. As Egypt is a Muslim country, is not rare to see a street dog got bitten up badly. One dog at the center was shot by gun and brought to the center for treatmen, and the other one is crippled with 3 legs only.
All these cruelty is not right, as their prophet said :"Whoever has pity even for a little bird, will have mercy upon him by God on the Day of Resurrection"
So I guess, put it in another way, they will be punished if they did otherwise. Yeah!
This boy in the picture is a volunteer (means work for free lah)...Dr. Mohamed allowed him to work in the shelter. He was with Rocky (same name as our dog lah!), the everycat's friendly dog guard, very mild mannered and quite.
Me with the pure breed Egyptian Mau kitten. I almost adopted her but the other mix breed Siamese kitty you see in the photo below, BEGGED me to bring him instead.
Please, xuan wo, xuan wo! (pick me! pick me!) 
So, I end up fostering this Siamese kitty. Eve gave him a name : QQ.
QQ joined the family on 18 April 08, and he's four months old. So now our family member's nationality got more complicated:
QQ enjoying his first meal at our apartment... luncheon meat! haha, I bought some cat food for him later that night.
QQ is a very playful (but not agreesive) kitty. The first thing he did when he reached our apartment is to check out every rooms and even our bathroom! I guess he just like us: "If the apartment is not nice I don't want hor!" He ended up sleeping in the small toilet at night because he was pawling away the cat litter all over the floor. Hehe, huo gai!
QQ like companion of humans very much, which is very rare for cats.
He sticks to me whenever I go, even climbed into the washing machine when I do the laundry. He also likes to climb on me....and...
"Slaps!"....Bully me!
Dear, I think we should have call him Sticky instead lah. Too sticky! Is that even a cat? Hehe...

I used to own 2 genuine Zippo (not those imitation you get in ChatChuChak market in Bangkok lar). One was a gift from my good friend during poly time and the other one I bought it myself.
The one given by friend was accidently dropped from 7 storey, while I was trying to practise the new fancy flip-and-light skill with the Zippo.....at the window edge. When I recovered it, it was badly dented.
I can't recall what had happend to the other one, but if I my memory serves me right, I think I tried to repair the other one myself with SUPER GLUE and the flip got stucked by the over flowing glue....I very clever hor?
This Zippo caught my eyes with the dog logo embossed on it...Ok ok, I know it's a wolf but I am the owner so if I say it's dog, then it's a dog.
The design also match Egypt quite well I think, like it's at the Sahara desert with the cactus and the DOG howling at full moon.
It's a bit pricy to buy here compare to the price in Singapore, but Zippo has many designs for the casing and if you found one that you like, you better buy it. It's difficult to buy another identical Zippo somewhere else, unless it's the standard metal chrome version with no design on it.
Hah! Zippo even manufacture display stand for collectors!
So, why Zippo since that it's expensive compared to the 3 for 1 dollar plastic case lighter made in China?
Well, the Zippo lighter is backed by its famous lifetime guarantee: “It works or we fix it for free.” ....and as claimed on their website: "In almost 75 years, no one has ever spent a cent on the mechanical repair of a Zippo lighter regardless of the lighter’s age or condition."
Damn....I should have sent my Zippo back to them. But I guess I better don't because shipping cost to get it there is more than enough to buy a few new one. See...sometime I clever also.
Zippo also famous for windproof....very good for a windy city like Cairo.
Every Zippo lighter manufatured date is also stamped on the casing.....mine is June 2005. So it's almost 3 years old now.

Zippo not just being used as a windproof life time warranty lighter, it also blends into trend, fashion and advertising as well. Look at the Jack Daniel's whisky label famously seen on the casing....you think Zippo give Jack Daniel free advertising meh?
